The seventh season of Game of Thrones starts July 16. As a lead-up, I’m re-watching the first six seasons of the show. Below are 10 thoughts I had while watching the eighth episode of season five, “Hardhome.” Spoilers for the entire series, but for this episode in particular.
- I’ve been looking forward to this episode. Its violent and gory, which are two things I don’t particularly enjoy about this show, but it’s also incredibly well-written, well-acted, and exciting.
- Arya’s hair looks so good during the scene where she’s selling clams. It’s always a nice treat when they let her look a little girly.
- Sansa may still be in Ramsay’s clutches, but at least now she’s knows she’s not the last living Stark.
- Good luck breaking that wheel, Daenerys.
- “He always comes back.” – Looking back, this is probably a clue pointing to Jon’s resurrection.
- The wildlings certainly have a nasty way of asserting who the alpha male is, if the bit between Tormund and the Lord of Bones is anything to go by.
- I’m glad Karsi’s daughters managed to make it to safety. I just wish she had gone with them.
- Shutting the gates and leaving your own people to die is cold. I know it’s a matter of survival, but it’s still really hard for me to watch.
- So Valyrian steel works on White Walkers, too. It’s a good thing Jeor Mormont gave Jon that sword.
- It’s a pity they killed off Karsi so quickly. She could have been an interesting character.
I liked it when wun wun was like ‘wat are you looking at’ t Ed.
