The next season of Game of Thrones starts July 16. In preparation, I’m re-watching the first six seasons of the show. Below are 10 thoughts I had while watching the sixth episode of season five, “Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken.” Spoilers for the entire series, but for this episode in particular.
- Arya acts so surprised when she find out the Waif was lying. She should know by now that people often lie.
- Poor Jorah. Last episode he gets greyscale, and now he finds out his father is dead.
- Given Tyrion’s track record for being right, I am worried that the show is foreshadowing Daenerys’s descent in madness.
- The people in this world believe some weird crap. Seriously, how is a dwarf’s penis going to be lucky?
- Littlefinger is such a dick. He just gave Sansa to the Boltons to secure an alliance between their house and his, and now he’s selling the Boltons out to the Lannisters in the hopes of getting a better deal. I hope he tries to pull that crap with Daenerys and she does to him what she did with Kraznys.
- I think Trystane really cared for Myrcella. And they certainly would have been a force to be reckoned with. Too bad Ellaria screwed that up.
- Oh, Margaery! The whole time she was talking, I just wanted to shout “It’s a trap!”
- Tommen is not only a lousy king, he’s a lousy husband. A good husband would stand up for his wife.
- I love Sansa standing up to Myranda. That bitch needs to be reminded of her place.
- The end of this episode is so hard to watch. I think it’s probably the second most heartbreaking one for me.
