The new season of Game of Thrones starts July 16. As a lead-up, I’m re-watching the first six seasons of the show. Below are 10 thoughts I had while watching the seventh episode of season four, “Mockingbird.” Spoilers for the entire series, but for this episode in particular.
- I don’t blame Tyrion for not taking the deal. He wouldn’t have survived two months at the Wall.
- Enter The Mountain 3.0. I know I can’t be the only one who finds he gets scarier with every upgrade.
- Selyse really has drunk the kool-aid. Melisandre just revealed she’s a fraud, yet Selyse still trusts her.
- Also, it’s clear in this scene that Melisandre was already planning to sacrifice Shireen in the North. As if I didn’t hate her enough already.
- I forgot Hot Pie appeared in this episode! Sort of convenient that he pops up just long enough to tell Brienne and Pod what Arya’s been up to.
- Tyrion taught his squire well. If it wasn’t for Pod, Brienne wouldn’t have figured out that Arya was on her way to the Eyrie.
- Oberyn’s story reaffirms my belief that Cersei, not Tyrion, is the real monster of the Lannister siblings.
- Don’t apologize, Sansa. I’ve been wanting to slap that little brat since his first episode.
- Littlefinger is such a creep, kissing Sansa. She’s 16, for crying out loud!
- How long do you think it took Lysa to hit the ground?
