Daredevil Re-Watch: The Path of the Righteous

The Netflix series The Defenders premieres August 18.  In preparation, I’m re-watching all the Netflix shows set in the MCU. First up is season one of Daredevil. Below are 10 thoughts I had while watching episode eleven, “The Path of the Righteous.” Spoilers for the entire MCU, but for this episode in particular.

James Wesley in The Path of the Righteous

  1. I love when Matt tells Karen that the car that hit him was Japanese. His sense of humor is one of his best qualities.
  2. Karen is so precious, bringing Matt a balloon with a monkey on it.
  3. I’m not big on pet names, but Marci calling Foggy “Foggy Bear” is pretty cute.
  4. “She’ll make it.” – Of course Vanessa will survive. It would be too convenient for her to die now.
  5. I understand both Karen and Ben’s point of views. If Fisk had done to me what he did to Karen, I would stop at nothing to try and take him down. At the same time, I see why Ben feels the need to put his wife before anything else.
  6. For someone who has a code against killing, Matt sure does seem to enjoy throwing people off of roofs.
  7. I’m glad Matt has finally arranged with Melvin Potter to get himself a decent outfit. Anyone who is going to be fighting bad guys on a regular basis (and isn’t bulletproof) should be wearing something more than a long-sleeved shirt for protection.
  8. Fisk is an even bigger bully than his father was, forcing people to work for him under threat of violence.
  9. Karen really gets put through the ringer this season. First she is framed for murder, and now she gets kidnapped.
  10. I’m glad Wesley is dead, but I’m sorry that Karen had to be the one who killed him. That’s got to be a traumatizing experience.
