The Netflix series The Defenders premieres August 18. In preparation, I’m re-watching all the Netflix shows set in the MCU. First up is season one of Daredevil. Below are 10 thoughts I had while watching episode eleven, “The Path of the Righteous.” Spoilers for the entire MCU, but for this episode in particular.
- I love when Matt tells Karen that the car that hit him was Japanese. His sense of humor is one of his best qualities.
- Karen is so precious, bringing Matt a balloon with a monkey on it.
- I’m not big on pet names, but Marci calling Foggy “Foggy Bear” is pretty cute.
- “She’ll make it.” – Of course Vanessa will survive. It would be too convenient for her to die now.
- I understand both Karen and Ben’s point of views. If Fisk had done to me what he did to Karen, I would stop at nothing to try and take him down. At the same time, I see why Ben feels the need to put his wife before anything else.
- For someone who has a code against killing, Matt sure does seem to enjoy throwing people off of roofs.
- I’m glad Matt has finally arranged with Melvin Potter to get himself a decent outfit. Anyone who is going to be fighting bad guys on a regular basis (and isn’t bulletproof) should be wearing something more than a long-sleeved shirt for protection.
- Fisk is an even bigger bully than his father was, forcing people to work for him under threat of violence.
- Karen really gets put through the ringer this season. First she is framed for murder, and now she gets kidnapped.
- I’m glad Wesley is dead, but I’m sorry that Karen had to be the one who killed him. That’s got to be a traumatizing experience.
