The Netflix series The Defenders premieres August 18. In preparation I’m re-watching all the Netflix shows set in the MCU. First up is season one of Daredevil. Below are 10 thoughts I had while watching episode eight, “Shadows in the Glass.” Spoilers for the entire MCU, but for this episode in particular.
- What kind of person wears the same thing every day by choice? Just more proof that Fisk is not quite all together upstairs.
- “It will be difficult to locate another Black Sky. They are extremely rare.” – As if you bad guys don’t always have a plan b.
- Fisk knows how to pick and choose his battles. He doesn’t need to start a war with the Japanese when everything is going his way.
- Cops should always be able to trust their partner. Unless, of course, both of them are dirty. Then I guess all bets are off.
- Here’s where Fisk went wrong. If he hadn’t tried to have Blake killed, Blake wouldn’t have given Matt information on him.
- Bernie Walker may have been a jerk, but Bill Fisk was a monster for teaching his son to use violence as a solution to life’s problems.
- We get a hint of how dangerous Madame Gao is. If Fisk is smart for pretending not to speak Mandarin and Japanese, Gao is even smarter for recognizing that he does. I guess you don’t get to live to be over 400 years old by being an idiot.
- Bill deserved what happened to him for beating on his wife and son. I do feel sorry for young Fisk, though.
- I hate how Fisk always seems to be one step ahead of the good guys. It was especially frustrating the first time I watched it. At least now I know what happens at the end of the season.
- Poor Ben. He was going to expose Fisk and now it seems like all his hard work was for nothing.
