The new season of Game of Thrones starts July 16. In preparation, I’m re-watching the first six seasons of the show. Below are 10 thoughts I had while watching the seventh episode of season three, “The Bear and the Maiden Fair.” Spoilers for the entire series, but for this episode in particular.
- Ygritte making fun of the way the people of Westeros fight is hilarious. I do miss the humor she brings to the show.
- I feel so sad for Robb and Talisa. Here they are, happy at the thought that they’re going to be parents, and of course that’s never going to happen.
- I love Margaery trying to console Sansa. She really was such a wonderful person.
- Joffrey may be the king, but Tywin is the puppet master.
- How long do you think it took Missandei to memorize all of Daenerys’s titles? It’s been six seasons and I still don’t have all of them down.
- Tyrion presenting Shae with chains sends a bit of a chill through me, considering what happens to her.
- Oh, it’s Myranda. She was as sick in the head as Ramsay.
- I know nothing should have surprised me after watching Jaime lose his hand, but I was still shocked when Ramsay castrated Theon.
- Ygritte, you’re never going to be able to turn Jon into a wilding. All the things you like about him are reasons why he won’t betray the Night’s Watch.
- Going back for Brienne is one of the few good things Jaime ever did on this show. I still haven’t made up my mind as to whether I like him or hate him.
