The seventh season of Game of Thrones starts July 16. In preparation, I’m re-watching the first six seasons of the show. Below are 10 thoughts I had while watching the fourth episode of season two, “Garden of Bones.” Spoilers for the entire series, but for this episode in particular.
- I find it interesting that Roose Bolton and Talisa are introduced in the same scene, since he plays a direct role in her murder.
- Also, the sound of Talisa amputating the Lannister soldier’s foot is so sickening. I suppose I should just be grateful they didn’t decide to show it.
- Joffrey is such a sadistic creep. Olenna Redwyne really did the people of Westeros all a favor.
- No wonder Littlefinger didn’t want Harrenhal. It certainly isn’t much to look at.
- I wonder if Arya will ever get around to finishing off everyone on her list. Joffrey has already been taken care of, of course.
- Cat is such a mom. Some things are universal.
- “The night is dark and full of terrors.” – I know that’s something Melisandre always says, but when she says it to Renly it’s basically a warning of what is to come for him.
- I think saving Arya’s life is probably the only thing Tywin ever did on this show that I liked, aside from appointing Tyrion Hand of the King.
- Stannis correcting Davos’s grammar makes me smile. There’s one of those in every family.
- Melisandre giving birth is so disturbing. No wonder Davos never warmed to her.
