The next season of Game of Thrones starts July 16. As preparation, I’m re-watching the first six seasons of the show. Below are 10 thoughts I had while watching the third episode of season two, “What Is Dead May Never Die.” Spoilers for the entire series, but for this episode in particular.
- Bran’s ability is so cool. Although I wouldn’t want to have to give up the use of my legs in exchange for it.
- “The dragons are gone, the Giants are dead, and the Children of the Forest forgotten” – Maester Luwin doesn’t know about Daenerys’s dragons, but we do, and this is a sign that the Giants and Children of the Forest will eventually pop up as well.
- Margaery! She really was the best character this show ever had.
- They may not have grown up together, but Yara and Theon sure do fight just like siblings.
- Myrcella and Tommen really were so pure.
- Tyrion is so slick here, testing the loyalties of the small council.
- Renly may be a king, but Loras seems to be the one who calls the shots in their relationship.
- Margaery is a woman who knows what she wants and will do whatever it takes to get it.
- Every time there’s a scene with Grand Maester Pycelle in his quarters, I’m extremely grateful that his shirt is as long as it is. Nobody wants to see what’s under that.
- The blood squirting out of Lommy’s throat after Lorch puts his blade through it always reminds me of a scene from a horror movie.
