The new season of Game of Thrones starts July 16. In preparation, I’m re-watching the first six seasons of the show. Below are 10 thoughts I had while watching the first episode of season two, “The North Remembers.” Spoilers for the entire series, but for this episode in particular.
- I don’t get all the hate Sansa gets. She has a good heart and is just trying to survive.
- “You love your children. It’s your one redeeming quality.” – And now she’s out of children to love. Should make season seven interesting.
- “He didn’t know anything about anything.” – I love Daenerys’s summation of Viserys.
- Damn HBO. You’ve already taken away the woman’s husband and baby, now you’ve got to take her horse too?
- Craster is so creepy. He makes the Targaryens’ marriage customs look healthy.
- Not sure why we were all so surprised when we learned how old Melisandre was, seeing as how she survived drinking Cressen’s poison.
- Robb, you should really have taken your mother’s advice. Balon is no Stark ally.
- “We will all be together again soon.” – Yeah, that’s never gonna happen. Because GRRM is a sadist.
- Watching Cersei slap Joffrey isn’t nearly as satisfying as watching Tyrion do it.
- The scene with the baby in the whorehouse makes me tear up every time I watch it. I can’t imagine having your infant ripped from your arms and murdered right before your eyes.
